World Blood Donor Day is observed on 14th June to mark the anniversary of Karl Landsteiner. It was first celebrated in 2004 to spread awareness about the need for regular blood donations and its requirement to save lives. On this day, Blood Donors donate blood themselves to save the lives whether of accident victims or those who are in need of blood transfusion for the surgeries.
St. John Junior College celebrated the World Blood Donor Day on 25th June 2021. Students from Science, Commerce and Arts attended the session. Also all teachers attended the session. The session was conducted by Mrs.Swapnali Hooli. She explained about identification of blood groups and when we can donate the blood. Overall it was very good session.
