On 23rd July, 2019 the Birthday of Lokmanya Tilak was celebrated in St. John Junior College. Tilak was the first Leader of the Indian Independence Movement. The British Colonial authorities called him “The Father Of the Indian Unrest.” He was one third of the Lal, Bal, Pal triumvirate. He was an ardent nationalist who helped lay the foundation for Indian’s Independence by building his own defiance of British rule into a national Movement.

Students of Std. 11th and 12th participated in the programme. The Celebration got started by 01:00 pm. With the lightening of the lamp followed by flower offerings in front of the portrait of Tilak by Mr. Kashif Shaikh. He said a few words about Lok Manya Tilak. Students from Std. 11th (Fatema Kamdar and Hetal Piprotar) gave speech on Tilak’s achievements as a nationalist, as teacher and as the founder of Indian National Movement. The Program got over by 02:30 pm.
