The Ganesha Idol Making Competition was held to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi, a festival dedicated to Lord Ganesha. The event aimed to promote traditional art forms and provide a platform for students to showcase their skills in crafting Ganesha idols. The competition attracted participants from various backgrounds reflecting the festival’s cultural significance and artistic diversity.
The primary objectives of the competition were:
To encourage creativity and craftsmanship in traditional idol-making.
To preserve and promote the cultural heritage associated with Ganesh Chaturthi.
A total of 13 participants registered, with 5 group entries submitted for the competition.
The event was structured into several phases:
Each participant group had 1 hour 30 min to create their idol, with access to a range of materials including clay, colours, and traditional tools.
A panel of judges, present to guide students.
The competition featured a wide range of idol designs, from traditional representations to contemporary interpretations. This showcased the versatility and innovation within the art form.
The idols were evaluated based on the following criteria:
Creativity and originality in design.
Alignment with traditional themes and symbols associated with Ganesh Chaturthi.
Effective and appropriate use of materials.
The winners of the competition were as follows:
First Place: Kartiki Kumbhar , Anushka Trivedi, Diksha Jha.from XI Science A
Second Place: Yashika Verma, Saniya Pimple, Vaidehi Patil From XI Science A
Third Place: Darshana Suryawanshi, Tarang Yadav From XI Science A
