SHLOKA RECITATION COMPETITION
Shloka Recitation Competition was conducted on the occasion of Gurupurnima at St. John Junior College on Monday, 10th July 2023. The programme was organised by Mrs. Harsha Gawad.
Gurupurnima helps to reflect on life and honours the wisdom that life has offered. It is a day to be grateful. When you see how wisdom has transformed your life, you feel grateful for all that has come your way. Celebrating this feeling of gratitude is Guru Purnima.
Organising this competition was not only to encourage the children to learn and recite Shlokas and understand their meaning, but also to ignite the young minds to delve into the deep and rich Indian Knowledge.
Many students actively participated in the competition. The students were judged by Ms. Apoorva Patil and Ms.Aarti Chauhan on the basis of fluency, pronunciation, clarity, selection of Shloka, explanation etc.
Winners of Shloka Recitation Competition are as follows,
1st Prize Niyati Kini (XIIth Sci A)
2nd Prize Mohika Sanghavi (XII Sci B)
3rd Prize Rishabh Jha (XIIth Sci A)
and
Ritika Soni (XII Com)
