World Blood Donor Day was celebrated on 18th June 2023, under the guidance of the Co-ordinator Ms.Trusha Pimple. Every year countries around the world celebrate World Blood Donor Day (WBDD).The event serves to raise awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products and to thank voluntary, unpaid blood donors for their life-saving gifts of blood.A blood service that gives patients access to save blood and blood products in sufficient quantity is a key component of an effective health system. The global theme of World Blood Donor Day changes each year in recognition of the selfless individuals who donate their blood for people unknown to them.
Mrs.Suchita Gharat the Principal and other staff members attended this event and encouraged the students.
The objectives of this year’s campaign were to:
1.Thank blood donors for their life-saving donations.
3.Create wider public awareness of the need for regular donation because of the short shelf-life of blood components and to encourage existing and potential donors to donate blood at regular intervals.
