Diwali Celebration
The Diwali Celebration was conducted on the occasion of Diwali at St. John Junior College on Wednesday, 26th October 2024. The competition was organized by Mrs. Harsha Gawad
Diwali is an Indian religious festival Diwali is celebrated on the new moon (Amavasya) during Kartik month, as per the Hindu calendar. On this day Lord Ram returned to Ayodhya, his birthplace after defeating Ravana, the king of Lanka. We worship Maa Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha on Diwali.
The event started with a warm welcome of Principal, Judges, Teachers & participants. The students enthusiastically participated in the competition as they got an opportunity to exhibit their talent. They used decorative threads, stars, mirrors, pearls, quilling Strips, earbuds, earthens Diya, Colourful Rangoli colours, flowers and Colourful Papers for making beautiful Diyas, Lantern and Rangoli. This competition provided a platform for students to showcase their creativity, cultural appreciation, and artistic skills.
Their artisanship was quite fascinating and students thoroughly enjoyed this activity that tickled their Creative side.Students of XI & XII standard participated in the competition and made colourful Diya, Rangoli and Lantern. The students were judged on the basis of creativity, Neatness, Innovation, Presentation and Material used etc. It was a difficult task for judges to select winners. Students shared First, Second and Third rank.
