Report on DNA Bracelet Making Competition

Introduction

The Biology Department organized a DNA Bracelet Making Competition to help students understand the structure of DNA in a creative and hands-on way. The activity encouraged learning through art, teamwork, and imagination.

Date and Venue

  • Date: 12 November 2025
  • Venue: XI Science Class room

Students from Class XI Science participated in the competition. A total of 25 students took part with great enthusiasm.

Activity Details

Students were instructed to:

  • Create a bracelet representing the structure of DNA.
  • Use beads or colors to show the four nitrogen bases: Adenine (A), Thymine (T), Guanine (G), and Cytosine (C).
  • Show correct base pairing (A-T and G-C).
  • Maintain neatness and creativity.

During the competition, students used different materials like colored beads, threads, and wires to design their DNA bracelets. They demonstrated creativity while also applying scientific knowledge about DNA structure.

Judging and Results

Bracelets were judged on:

  • Scientific accuracy
  • Creativity
  • Neatness and presentation

Winners:

  • First Prize: Hitanshi Nadage
  • Second Prize: Sanjana Mahto and Kashish Yadav
  • Third Prize: Priya Yadav and Vedika Upadhyay

Conclusion

The DNA Bracelet Making Competition was a fun and educational activity. It helped students understand the concept of DNA base pairing through a simple and engaging method. Students enjoyed the activity and actively participated, making the event successful.
